• One bright sunny day, the wind blows in. It boasts, 'I am stronger than the sun!' The sun says, 'You think you are strong. But I am stronger than you. Let's have a contest.'

  在阳光明媚的一天，风吹过来。它吹嘘道：“我比太阳更强大！”太阳说：“你以为你强大。但是，我比你更强大。让我们来比赛吧。”

• The sun looks down and sees an old man. He wears an overcoat. 'Do you see that old man?' the sun asks. 'Let's see who can make him take off his overcoat.'

  太阳往地面上一看，看到了一个老人家。他穿了一个厚厚的外套。太阳对风说：“你看到了那个老人家吗？看看我们谁能让他脱掉外套”。

• The wind blows. Then the man buttons up his overcoat. The wind blows harder and harder. The old man stays huddled in his overcoat.

  风开始刮了。老人则把他的外套扣得紧紧的。风越刮越大。老人最后紧紧蜷缩在他的外套里。

• Then the sun comes out, 'Now it is my turn.' Bright sunlight fills the air, the air grows warmer. The old man feels hot and he unbuttons his overcoat. Soon he has to take off his overcoat.

  然后太阳出来，太阳说：“现在轮到我了。”明亮的日光弥漫在空气中，空气中温度越来越高。老人感觉很热，解开他的外套。很快，他就把外套脱掉了。

• Grandma is going to make different kinds of zongzi for Lingling's friends. Can you help her find out how many people like each kind?

• Lingling likes the ones with dates and bean paste. Baobao likes salty ones with meat. Guoguo likes both salty ones and the ones with dates. Maomao likes all three kinds. Yangyang never eats the salty ones but he likes the other two kinds.

• The Mid-Autumn Festival is an important holiday in the Chinese calendar. Families and friends get together to enjoy the full moon and eat moon cakes. Shops often display pictures of Chang'e flying to the moon.

  在中国农历中，中秋节是一个非常重要的节日。亲朋好友聚在一起赏月，吃月饼。商店里经常在中秋节挂嫦娥奔月的海报。

• The Dragon Boat Festival is another traditional Chinese festival. People often remember the Chinese poet Qu Yuan on this day. Qu Yuan loved his people very much when he was alive. After he died in the river, people were very sad. They decided to throw food into the river to feed the fish, so the fish would not eat his body. People also tried to scare the fish away with the dragon-head boats. Today, we eat zongzi and race dragon boats to remember this man——Qu Yuan.

  端午节是中国另一个重要的传统节日。在那天，人们都会想起中国伟大诗人屈原。屈原在世的时候，很疼惜他的人民。他投江自刎之后，人民感到很痛心。人民决定把食物投到江里喂鱼，那样鱼就不会吃到他的身体了。人民同时通过赛龙舟吓跑鱼群。今天，我们吃粽子，赛龙舟就是为了纪念我们伟大的诗人屈原。
