The Spring Festival

春节

The Spring Festival is the Chinese New Year. It comes in January or February. Chinese people have a long holiday for the festival. They go back home and have a big family dinner.

春节是中国的新年。通常在每年的1月或者2月。过新年的时候，中国会有一段长假。人们都回家团聚，吃团圆饭。

Children play with fireworks for the festival. The fireworks are beautiful. Children like them very much. They get 'lucky money' from their parents and grandparents.

过节的时候孩子们会放烟花。烟花很美。孩子们非常喜欢。他们还能收到父母和祖父母给的“压岁钱”。

On the first day of the Spring Festival, people often get up early. They go from door to door and say 'Happy New Year'. After that, they visit their friends.
